1) An Original Birth Record is what most people have 2) An Amended Original Birth Record is the exact same thing except it’s issued to adoptees–their original is then sealed and only opened on court order. Legally, it’s treated and accepted as an EQUAL to an Original Birth Certificate.

So what if they have proof he was born. I'm sure someone has proof Fidel Castro was born, somewhere, too. Everyone alive today was born and can prove it by standing in front of you. That's not the issue.

Natural born citizenship is the issue. What citizenship is listed on the original birth certificate? What citizenship is documented? That's why the voters need to see the original. Get it now ??

Man, the left sure is going out of it's way to parse it's words and avoid answering questions. ""IS" Oboma a citizen or "IS" he not?

I happened upon this website when reading about the way the Dems cornered some of the Repubs on this issue, and cannot believe that there are people in this country who still cannot accept a black man with a funny name being elected. First, let’s make one thing clear, even if he weren’t born in Hawaii, it doesn’t matter because his mother was a citizen, period. Second, I am a white lawyer in Iowa who does tons of family cases, including adoption. My own birth certificate, which, by the way, is never issued by the hospital, but by the state using info provided by the doctor or hospital or facility where you are born, was an older version similar to that described in the various articles, which was a poor black and white form handwritten; I am the same age as Obama, so not unusual. That record was destroyed several years ago, because I had lost my certified copy (no one ever gets their original birth certificate, ever), and was told that they had modernized and computerized and standardized their forms, long before Hawaii, and that the “original” no longer existed, but was destroyed, no microfiche or any other “copy” exists; all of the info was carefully placed onto the system, with appropriate backups, and when I got one for a passport a couple of years ago, it was the same as ones that we get for kids now before they go through the adoption process or if we need it for passports, guardianships, etc. I have two children born in other states and we have had similar experiences with the “original” certificates which were also older versions. Finally, you guys are all crazy if you believe even one iota of this conspiracy theory.
