A federal judge today sentenced Patrice Tierney, the wife of Democratic US Representative John F. Tierney, to 30 days in jail for aiding and abetting the filing of false tax returns.
"There must be an actual sanction," US District Judge William G. Young said in imposing the sentence, noting the importance of protecting the tax system, which depends on citizens' voluntary compliance. Patrice Tierney must begin serving her sentence on Feb. 28.

The wife of Congressman John Tierney is set to plead guilty to federal charges she helped her brother conceal income from an alleged illegal offshore gambling business that generated millions of dollars.
Another DEMOCRAT tax cheat!
Eewwww, she deserves life for that toothy grin alone!
This is Massachusetts.
A federal indictment and/or conviction is considered a political resume enhancer.
I am amazed his wife is doing any time whatsoever.
She is probably in shock right now.
All she knows is false worship and praise.
And Wesley Snipes gets three years? Must have been a registered Republican.
Meanwhile, her husband thinks the rest of us should pay higher taxes to fund their spending.
John Tierney was one of the six congressmen from Massachusetts that was listed as card carrying socialists of seventy members of Congress.
Message to self: Howie Carr is now playing that song.
“Tierney’s attorney, Donald Stern, emphasized his client was “not charged with money laundering. She’s not charged with being part of the business.” And he described her as someone “who has lived a good life, who is a good person, and who has made this mistake and for that she is forever embarrassed and sorry.”
She would have been even “gooder” had she not been caught. What a stupid statement by the attorney.”
“She lived a good life”, well hell, who wouldn’t on the money she prolly got from her criminal activities.
Wait! She was sorry? She wasn’t sorry while she was doing it, or else she would have stopped doing it, or even come forward to face justice. I wonder if she tried to talk her brother out of it.
Dam these people.
Thirty days for stealing MILLIONS!!?? Where do I sign??!!
hell, if i did that i would get 20 years
I hope I only get thirty days when they catch up with me.

Am I the only one who finds this ironic ?
I haven’t, however, found the case online. This is a quasi bookmark for me.
