Assad says Trump travel ban targets terrorists, not Syria's people

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad said President Donald Trump's ban on Syrians entering the United States targeted terrorists, not the Syrian people, appearing to defend the logic of the measure in an interview broadcast on Thursday.

Trump last month issued an executive order, since suspended by a U.S. district judge, that temporarily barred travelers from seven mostly Muslim countries including Syria, as well as imposing an indefinite ban on all Syrian refugees.

"It's against the terrorists that would infiltrate some of the immigrants to the West. And that happened. It happened in Europe, mainly in Germany," Assad said in the interview with Europe 1 radio and TF1 television which was recorded on Tuesday in English.

appearing to defend the logic of the measure

Logic is solely on the side of the measure.

There is no logic on the side against the measure.

LOL, such low hanging fruit with this one.

The McCain comment, good one.

What this reveals is that Assad has more grasp of sound U.S. Policy than every Democrat Senator and Representative, the Federal Judges who issued opinions, and the nation’s MSM.

And Assad is the leader of a nation specifically named in the ban. Yet Assad can grasp that this isn’t a slam against all Syrians or the nation or it’s government. It is merely designed to make the U.S. more safe.

He can figure that out, but the above entities can’t.

What a revealing moment.

I wonder if Assad realizes what a gift his comments were.

They depantsed our Left in the public square.

I think a sit-down with Assad, Putin and President Trump would yield more good than anything done in the previous 8 years.

Russia is simply not going to give up on a client state and one of their main footholds in such a geopolitically vital area, Assad, like anyone in his position is not going to give up power, period, and President Trump knows how to deal with men like both of them.

Yep, it was hard to believe, especially with the mild Rooters treatment, I couldn't elaborate on the source being Fake News, Propaganda, False Flag or Disinformation.

I felt SO constrained, it was awful.

Good Lord, we might actually put down the budding Islamic Caliphate if President Trump did such a dastardly thing.

Don’t call it a “travel ban”. Call it a “protection order”. Neither Trump nor we should let the Lying Leftist Media call his Executive Order (EO) a “travel ban”. Trump’s EO 13769 is titled, “Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States”. It is a temporary restriction on the immigration of potentially dangerous people. Trump’s EO is protection against illegal and dangerous immigration which is an invasion. It a “protection order”, not a “travel ban”.

Trump’s new PROTECTION ORDER/EO should reference Art IV, Sec 4 of the Constitution as authorization. The Constitution MANDATES federal action to prevent invasion (illegal and dangerous immigration is invasion) (Art IV, Sec 4) and there is no constitutional provision that the action must be non-discriminatory.
