Posted on 03/20/2017 7:06:59 AM PDT by RummyChick
The thief who swiped a Secret Service agents laptop targeted the agent in question and knew exactly what he was after ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
Our sources say the thief -- whom they say is a man -- was caught on surveillance video pulling up to the agent's driveway in an Uber at around 3 AM Thursday. The video shows the man make a beeline for the agent's car, removing a backpack with the computer inside and then walking off. As we reported, the hard drive contained Trump Tower floor plans and evacuation protocols, but the agency insists there was no classified info inside.
The thief also made off with a passport and several Secret Service lapel pins. It's unclear what the thief was looking for if all the content was non-sensitive. We're told the video is grainy so it's hard to make out the thief's features, but it's definitely a lead.
“shows the man make a beeline for the agent’s car”
The Secret Service leave important stuff...in the car? When parked in a driveway?
What has happened to this agency.
This was a hand off, not a robbery.
Yeah....that backpack with the laptop inside was left for a scheduled pickup.
This was a drop and a pickup. No one “stole” anything.
Every SS agent is most likely spied upon by other countries’ agents.
This ‘thief’ knew what, where, when and how....................
If the video was "grainy" and of poor quality...how could they distinguish the UBER sticker on the car....?
and if it was UBER they can get the start address, full name and credit card number and credit history, address etc of the rider.
Is this a stupid or too obvious question.....WHY didn’t the Secret Service Agent take this sensitive material inside his home????
Or was the thief MEANT to get this item?
OR do I read too many spy novels?
WHAT?! It was targeted? LOL! Uh, yeah. My thoughts from the git-go. NOT random act of petty thievery. But don’t worry. Without the superultra secret decoder ring it’s just a paper weight. Right? WHO leaves their laptop so easily accessible? Guess the same people who leave their weapons easily accessible like in SF/Kate shooting.
I still don’t understand how a Bajaj motorcycle got into this story.
It appears it was a car as per eye witness.
Lamecherry theorized the guy was suppose to make a copy but took the laptop instead for protection.
Has this agent been removed yet????
“This was a hand off, not a robbery.”
If it happened like it was stated, you’re exactly right.
Ya gotta go back and see who was observing her earlier in the day....and/or if she observes a strict pattern.
Eye witness saw the Uber sticker is what I am remembering
Will the lapel pins and ID allow security clearance?
Are you kidding..they just now removed the Agent who wouldn’t take a bullet for Trump.
Saw where SS likes to move people into other positions so they can keep pension, etc.
It was my understanding that it was a motorcycle.??
I read the agent was a woman..?
The picture is grainy, but the man looks desperate. Zooming in closer he looks a lot like.... Rachel Maddow.
Kidding aside, and I really shouldn’t have - finding out who this is and who he works for needs all hands on deck.
Then let's see who is in her personal circle.
I'd nail her to the wall. She belongs in prison.
That so-called ‘agent’ should have already been summarily fired. These people claim they are the ‘best of the best’ yet they’ve been showing up as the ‘worst of the worst’ when it comes to performance.
In any case, if Trump can’t get this ‘agent’ fired, he should at least DEMAND this agent NEVER comes anywhere near him again.
I bet he was CIA, myself.
Was the car locked at least?
And the purpose is?
8 years of 0bama.
it needs to be gutted and restructed (along with many other institutions)
if this happened march 16, it can’t possibly be related to hacking/tapping that occurred in late 2016.
It was no robbery - it was a scheduled pick up.
Someone on the inside provided those materials.
That’s a spy, not a thief.
Notice the fact that it contained info on the witches criminal investigation has disappeared from the story? It was a handoff of that info.
How did the guy even know the backpack/laptop was in the car?
This was a drop, set up to look like a theft.
Further, if there are no back-ups of the files contained on the laptop, the SS has a lot of ‘splaining to do.
[Will the lapel pins and ID allow security clearance?]
First order of business is to design and issue new lapel pins STAT!
If it’s a guy getting out of what appears to be a cab, police can ask cab companies (including Uber) for info matching surveillance video. Uber (if not all cabbies) undoubtedly GPS-tracks all rider information.
If it looks like a handoff, then CC etc info about passenger is probably faked/stolen.
Something is very wrong with this story. Why would they release what was on the computer....and in fact, why would they even say there was a computer stolen??
Knew what he was after...
Question is how did the perp know it.
He’s probably been promoted.
Exactly—what that video shows is that it was a premeditated inside job, with the agent complicit.
Right, the female agent was the one who conveniently left this in her unlocked car—and then told her accomplice where to find it.
“This was a hand off, not a robbery.”
Exactly, computer, passport and lapel pins in a back pack in a car at 3 AM....did he have to break in or just open the door? and where is this agent now..... in her safe space?
Now we know why he never goes back to Trump Tower. Too easy a target.
Pray America woke
Took an Uber to the scene of the crime? Shouldn’t be too hard to track them down, I would think.
Yep. I may be dumb, but I ain't stupid, and this fact is plain as day.
DRAIN. THAT. %@#%^^&%@*. SWAMP!!!
Have you noticed there are two versions of this incident in the media? One states her CAR was robbed, another states it was a 2015 Baja MOTORCYCLE. One report says middle of the night, another says some time around 8 am.
That was my first thought.
