Trump brings up the war on Christmas in July
Washington Post ^ | 07.02.17 | Amy B Wang

Posted on 07/04/2017 9:27:17 AM PDT by Coleus

The war on Christmas came early this year.

That is, according to President Trump, who devoted a large portion of his speech at a Celebrate Freedom event at the Kennedy Center on Saturday to railing against those who might try to shy away from overt references to Christianity in American discourse.

“Our religious liberty is enshrined in the very first amendment in the Bill of Rights. The American founders invoked our Creator four times in the Declaration of Independence,” Trump said. “Benjamin Franklin reminded his colleague at the Constitutional Convention to begin by bowing their heads in prayer. I remind you that we’re going to start saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again.”

Though the rally was meant to honor military veterans, Trump opened his speech by attacking the media and boasting of his election win.

“The fake media tried to stop us from going to the White House,” he said, “but I’m president and they’re not.”

He then declared that he would fight any “bureaucrats” who “think they can run over your lives, overrule your values, meddle in your faith and tell you how to live, what to say and where to pray.” The mostly evangelical Christian crowd at the event — which was sponsored by the First Baptist Dallas megachurch and Salem Media Group — responded to Trump’s remarks with resounding applause.

“Politicians have tried — oh, have they tried — to centralize authority among the hands of a small few in our nation’s capital,” Trump said. “I see them all the time … But we know that parents, not bureaucrats, know best how to raise their children and create a thriving society. And we know that families and churches, not government officials, know best how to create a strong and loving community.”

The time to bring this up is not Christmas Eve, when it’s too late. The time to bring it up is now. If I visit a store after Thanksgiving and employees are not allowed to say “Merry Christmas”, I will not shop there again. I have left purchases at the register rather than support such a dismal, anti-American institution. It is important for enablers of the Ctrl-Left to know the price they will pay if they bow down to freedom’s enemies.

The washington compost (or washington pest) is full of LIB haters of American culture and of things decent and civil. These nitwits are constantly harping on how one American culture aspect or another as wrong. What losers. What fools. They are owned by a LIB degenerate who’s self-loathing really knows no bounds. I laugh at their lunacy and idiocy...even though it is predictable and tiresome. May they go out of business.

The birth of Christ (regardless of which day it actually was on) was the true day Freedom was born.

I guess the moron who wrote this article never heard of “Christmas in July.” it’s an international celebration, that differs from hemisphere to hemisphere. Also, the famous movie “Christmas in July.” Even the Lifetime Network shows Christmas-themed movies every July. She looks like she’s 12 years old, but then, an actual 12 year old would have more brains than this twit. Wing Wang Amy.

To be against Trump, the MSM is having to be increasingly hateful of everything this country stands for.

The MSM are a bunch of godless, soulless, leftist progressive socialist democrats who believe that they control what you say and think. They believe that government IS god.

I have news for them: They don’t dictate jack shit!

I will celebrate Christmas and rejoice in the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. I will say “MERRY CHRISTMAS” to all who will hear.

When was the last time that you heard a politician, and especially the POTUS, wish his fellow Americans a Merry Christmas?

For years, retailers and politicians have found themselves at the center of the politicized debate over the use of the neutral greeting “Happy Holidays” — which has the potential to be even more offensive to some groups than “Merry Christmas,” according to a recent survey from Public Policy Polling.

"the use of the neutral greeting"

Yep.

Right in there with all the other "neutral."

Gender "neutral."

Pronoun "neutral."

Political "neutral."

Speech "neutral."

All that garbage is life "neutral."

There are warnings about that.

So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Right from the Big Guy.

Not looking good for "neutral."

.

Hey, wp, it was a Christian audience organized by a Dallas Baptist megachurch, widely promoted on DC Christian radio for weeks, six dc area church choirs performed, and the event was called, Celebrate Freedom. And the President talked about religious liberty and the Johnson Amendment. Fuh.

He’s defending Judeo-Christian American values on the independence holiday, and he’s setting the tone well before the wave of liberal articles over the holiday season that attack Christianity and America in general. Pacing and leading.

The liars at Fakepost act like this is the first time he’s said this. No. He said it in the campaign and/or while President-elect. As always they nit-pik the small action and neglect the real significance. In this case, Trump is communicating that the days of trashing Christianity and supporting lying so-called political correctness are over.
