North Korea and its nuclear weapons program have plagued the U.S. for years. What to do with all of these missile tests? How do we negotiate? Its all documented. With President Donald Trump, some people do think that his Twitter and overall personality could make a nuclear exchange more likely. So, as the president finishes the last leg of his Asia trip, he decided to take to Twitter and bash North Korean Kim Jong-un short and fat. This came after the Asian dictator called Trump old.
Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me old," tweeted the president. When I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!

Fat? Absolutely not. Phat? Totally.https://t.co/6Wi4PNWv58 Kim Jong-un (@_Kim_Jongun) November 12, 2017

Calling Trump old isnt exactly what the North Koreans said about Trump; they called him an old lunatic after his address to the South Korean National Assembly this week (via The Guardian):
Trump has been working to rally global pressure against North Koreas nuclear weapons program on the trip to Asia. In a stern speech delivered in South Koreas National Assembly on Tuesday, he said: Do not underestimate us. And do not try us ... The weapons youre acquiring are not making you safer, they are putting your regime in grave danger. Every step you take down this dark path increases the peril you face.
On Saturday, the Norths Foreign Ministry responded in a statement: Reckless remarks by an old lunatic like Trump will never scare us or stop our advance. On the contrary, all this makes us more sure that our choice to promote economic construction at the same time as building up our nuclear force is all the more righteous, and it pushes us to speed up the effort to complete our nuclear force.
At a news conference in Vietnam on Sunday after his tweets, Trump said it was possible he could be friends with Kim one day and that it would be very, very nice but he was not sure that it would happen.
Asked if he could see himself being friends with Kim, Trump said: That might be a strange thing to happen but its a possibility. If it did happen it could be a good thing, I can tell you, for North Korea, but it could also be good for a lot of other places and be good for the rest the world. It could be something that could happen. I dont know if it will but it would be very, very nice.
Trump has traded insults and threats with Kim in the past amid escalating tensions over Pyongyangs nuclear and missile programs. North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear bomb test on September 3, prompting another round of UN sanctions.
Well see what happens now. Glean what you will from this, but noI dont think nuclear war is coming because of a tweet.
Kill him with kindness. Then kill him.
Cowards. They are an insult to our founding fathers’ courage.
Kim Jong-un insulted Trump first and this was Trump’s response - FULL TWEET:
“Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me “old,” when I would NEVER call him “short and fat?” Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!”.
Never believe the Lying Leftist media who are presumed to be liars.
I believe he's made tremendous progress on this trip.
Kim is probably one of the very few fat people in North Korea.
So how is it Trump can say ...I would NEVER call him “short and fat” and the media dutifully misreports this and says: “...he decided to take to Twitter and bash North Korean Kim Jong-un [as] short and fat.?
Do they have ANY connection to reality, here?
Love his response. LMAO!
I could never dream of being flippant and sassy with the leader of North Korea at such a perilous time.
But then, I’m not The Donald.
I thought it was both shocking and hilarious.
We Americans are used to Trump being Trump with anybody he encounters.
The North Koreans are not used to Little Kim being pulled into a public ‘rage-off’. Kim loses face by becoming less ominous and mysterious, more the everyday human.
This round, Trump wins, because he has got me and many others laughing about that tweet calling him Short & Fat.
"...Love his response. LMAO!..."
That little dictator deserves ridicule. Go Trump!
“This round, Trump wins, because he has got me and many others laughing about that tweet calling him Short & Fat.”
I will support him and think he’s doing a great job considering the obstacles tossed his way,but I just wish he would shut his mouth.
I remember when GHWBush engaged in verbal insults to Sadaam Hussein when Bush was president. I recall him mis-pronouncing Sadaam deliberately...at the time, the MSM’s explanation was that by pronouncing it this way, it was a definite insult to him. Maybe it’s the same tactic being employed here. FWIW.
it is quite probable that the short fat guy will never get to enjoy the vegaries of old age.
Trump is being Trump. It has worked well against countless enemies.
Trump said the obvious. Everyone from now on will first think of Little Rocket Man as short and fat. He did it without actually calling him short and fat.
Ridicule is a powerful positioning weapon. Social media instantly spreads it.
Contrast this with the groveling approach of carter, Clinton, bush, Obama.
Will it work? Dont know.
Maybe his new nickname should be “Fannie”:
Dontcha jus’ love it?
Will it work? Dont know
Using an Alinskey tactic right back at them.
Trump called Schumer a clown, demeaning the guy who looks clownish.
