Is Donald Trump winning?
The BBC ^ | 5 December 2017 | Jon Sopel

This president has played a lot of golf since he won the election. He seems to do a lot of his business on the lush Trump properties - senators are invited to come and play a round while he can bend their ear to back this or that cause.

The way the president does business is not always pretty. There seems to be unnecessary noise and more collateral damage than there needs to be.

But who cares that you shanked the ball off the 3rd or hit the ball into the trees on the 5th and found the water on the 14th? It's all about how you get yourself out of the rough.

The recovery shot. The scramble out of trouble. And every time you think that President Trump finds his ball buried under the sand in a huge bunker, he seems somehow to chip the ball into the hole and emerge smiling.

Hell yes, he - and we - are winning. For years we complained about all the milktoasts Rs we elected or that they quickly turned into jellyfish. This time we got a bull in a china shop, but that's okay. The china was put there by communists and was of such a vastly inferior quality that the only decent thing to do was smash it all and toss it in the dumpster in order to make room for the good stuff.

President Trump is the rough man who is doing that. Truly the man for our times.

Collateral damage is the reason you don’t enable problems in perpetuity over solving them boldly. The problem in this world is the pretense that conflicts can be reduced risk decades if we just pay off the right people just enough. That is not diplomacy. It is being cruel and confusing to your opponent.

The writer describes the attributes of a true leader, a determined, persistent achiever who never takes no for an answer.

Funny how the BBC didn’t seem to have any golf course reports during the reign of the last president.

Yes, agree that President Trump is winning. However, unless our corrupt institutions are set on a path to reform, his accomplishments will not last very far beyond his presidency.

This is possibly the first time a mainstream news organisation (one that has carried endless anti-Trump articles) to acknowledge that Trump is in fact proving to be successful and that he is achieving his goals, despite the many “controversies” that have been reported breathlessly, but which have mostly passed away without any lasting impact.

And you dismiss it as “garbage”.

That’s odd.

The thing is that Tromp is not shanking or hitting the ball into the trees. These “shanks” are intentional moves designs to put his enemies in the “rough”. They still don’t understand him.

Yes, you are correct in describing reality. Marxist/Communist will never give up. Joe McCarthy could not get rid of all the rats and, this time around, sadly, it will still be true. In order to maintain our strength, we need a mindset which acknowledges the ideological war will never end. There will always be a segment of the public who want to continuously party on the backs of others’ hard earned wealth. Worse yet, they are power hungry atheists who consider themselves a privileged class, maintaining there is no God, heaven or hell, and no after life. The fools believe if they try hard enough and often enough they can eventually succeed in creating nirvana right here on earth. Well, we know how all those past experiments have ended.

Another stupid article from the BBC. It has become a parody of a news organization.

Did you read the article?

I am beginning to think there are posters here who simply make comments on articles without actually reading them, simply on the basis of what they think the article might say.

Yep, my read was the article acknowledged that on the basis of the objective card alone (facts) Trump, and by extension we, are winning.

Just beginning? It's a long-standing FR tradition; I'm surprised you are just noticing.

What a worthless article.

I did find this interesting.

“Supporting Roy Moore for the vacant Alabama Senate seat, even though he’s an alleged paedophile (which he denies)? Whatever

Paedophile?

wages are picking up for blue-collar workers. Unemployment is very low . . . pay is having to rise to attract workers . . . if you are someone whose pension is tied up in the stock market, you will be looking at the performance of Wall Street and thinking that every day is Christmas . . . the president's travel ban . . .

The article shows no approval, but it admits that President Trump is winning.

Something's up. The BBC has been relentlessly anti-Trump from the beginning. More so since Mr Trump won the election.

This article had to go through significant BBC review to be published, as it represents something completely different than what the BBC has been reporting to date.
