As we remember Pearl Harbor Day I we want to invite everyone to view a documentary of USS Arizona survivor and subsequent bomber pilot Lou Conter. Mr. Conter was on duty on the deck of the Arizona when the planes came in. Witness to Infamy is a gripping account of his service in the Pacific War. An Eagle Scout Project by Philip M.T. Jacques. Featuring footage, historical commentary and music, the film is about as professional as amateurs can get. Last year we traveled to Pearl Harbor for the 75th anniversary, and the film includes commentary from other survivors, and from some general officers. Over 500 DVDs have been distributed nationwide to schools, military and civilian officials, veterans and civic groups, etc. so we never forget Pearl Harbor. Now available ad-free on You Tube. If the link does not work, you can get the You Tube link at the project website, witnesstoinfamy.com. Run time: 50 minutes
Thanks for posting this.
Quite well done.
The video bottom line message? The alarm bells had been sounding since the 1930s. They were strategically surprised and caught flatfooted by Japan.
Be ready. Remember Pearl Harbor.
What a WW2 story Louis Conter’s, his ship the Arizona blown apart, surviving it when most of his shipmates died, he acted heroically in the aftermath. Then becoming a pilot in the famous “black cats” fighting off of New Guniea, many hair-raising things he lived through there.
The Eagle scouts who put this on, did an outstanding job.
After viewing the entirety of the video, I am left with a much greater appreciation of what happened at Pearl Harbor...on this Dec. 7th.
God bless them both. Good kid.
