ary D. Cohn, President Trumps top economic adviser, plans to resign, becoming the latest in a series of high-profile departures from the Trump administration, White House officials said on Tuesday.
The officials insisted there was no single factor behind the departure of Mr. Cohn, who heads the National Economic Council. But his decision to leave came after he seemed poised to lose an internal struggle amid a Wild West-style process over Mr. Trumps plan to impose large tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.
Gary has been my chief economic adviser and did a superb job in driving our agenda, helping to deliver historic tax cuts and reforms and unleashing the American economy once again, Mr. Trump said in a statement to The New York Times. He is a rare talent, and I thank him for his dedicated service to the American people.
Mr. Cohn is expected to leave in the coming weeks. He will join a string of recent departures by senior White House officials, including Mr. Trumps communications director and a powerful staff secretary.

Already a done deal.
He was a globalist and not America First. Oh well, people need to get with the agenda or they need to exit.
Another swamp monster out.
The rumor was that he was on-board just to get the tax cuts through and implemented. Job well done. Not surprising. Next.
Carbon tax Gary is going -Good!
Trump has an economic advisor?
I read an article that reported that he was there just to make sure Trump’s tariffs will not see the light of day. He’s in the pockets of the blue state bastards. Fire and replace easy peeasy..
Another one bites the dust. But at least he was able to make sure he kept his Carried Interest on the way out.
Trump is an economic advisor!
He was gone as soon as President Trump imposed those tariffs..so good riddance to Cohn he was against it
Oh, yeah, I forgot...
Sessions should take a hint.
Then why did he sign on? Did he think Trump was going to go back on his word like every other pol?
